I agree, if we stand silently by, and do nothing to change or help these animals...who will? We cannot depend on someone else to do it, or wait for the person/people to get their heads outta their butts and change.
Are we to let helpless animals or children, suffer neglect or abuse when we can make a difference, simply because we are afraid to speak up or upset others? That, in my life anyway, is something that I don't think I could ever live with.
When innocents suffer and/or die because good people are afraid to step out... because then they are the ones treated as the 'bad guy'.. something is seriously wrong.
I for one, welcome this information and interaction, that will hopefully encourage others to speak out.
None of us wants to 'tell on' someone, or get them 'in trouble', but what the heck else are we to do? Especially when the person in question, has been offered help, given help in many ways and areas, and still chooses to stay ingrained.. "adjective 1. firmly fixed; deep-rooted" in the behaviour that has gotten them to this point.
That is when we must, step in, to do hopefully whatever can be done to help the innocent animals (or kids) who cannot help themselves.

Absolutely Iris, we can't be blinded by respect or fear of the abuser, or the possible consequences to us, not in face of the suffering the little guys and other victims are enduring (not the best word but the only I can think of). We who know must act.

To remain quiet in the face of the knowledge abuse is being perpetrated is to become complicit in the abuse. Remember, one is not 'turning them in' out of spite or for some financial gain, hopefully. It is purely because the abused have no voice/power of their own and cannot effect the needed improvement for themselves that the report is being made.

No matter how badly I may be thought of by others after reporting an abuser, I will know I have done the right thing and ended the abuse. It takes courage to speak up sometimes, luckily, Sally did; and applaud her for that.
