So is it really hilarious in a recent Yellow Pages ad where the dog eats the cockatiel? I have always wondered why anyone, other than recently pubescent boys would think anything like that was funny? Dead bird ads have been around a long time - the last one I remember was the dead budgie in the cage because the Blimpie "chef?" was concentrating on work to much to think of feeding his pet bird. I remember was back to the Little Ceasar's with the macaw snapping all over the room because he was caught in the cheese. The Yellow Pages ad receives Sally Blanchard's Feather Shaft Award for insensitive and stupid bird-related ad of the year.

I hadn't heard about this, but it doesn't surprise me about the mentality of people when it comes to this kind of humor. Not funny... just stupid.

Even the 'Roadrunner' has more sense than to let some stupid marketing person make him look vulnerable.
Now the coyote, that's another story...

My all time favorite parrot ad was for United Airlines. You could hear Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue playing on the piano from outside of a window. Then the camera slowly went into the window to the piano. Then you saw that it was a Blue and Gold Macaw playing the piano. It was a stunning ad. I can't find it on youtube

But this one is probably my other favorite.
