No not yet... there are so many deer and elk here. The Montana government decided to plant turkeys - so turkeys are everywhere - easy pickins for wolves.

However, the deer and elk have become more rare lately, and the turkeys have hurdled together on private land, often in fenced yards.

I love the wildlife, but the wolves are out of control. I step out for a piss at 2 a.m. and at 4 a.m. wolf tracks are on top of my foot prints... pretty much every day.

Sometimes I step outside and animals are moving in the brush, or rush into the thicket... I hear tree limbs breaking and frozen grass crumbling.

The wolves are not afraid of me, my car... fire... nothing. Most of the time it's a deer or a fox, but I've been here 3 weeks and have seen the wolves 3 times already.

So, many people up here are worried, and they should be.

There are two clearings back in the forest behind where I live... we hiked back in there last week to hunt for deer. Wolf tracks everywhere. Everywhere.

They seem to have taken over.

My avatar: Fishing contest with my brother... his last fish, a blue shark, ate half of my fish. So I caught 16.5 and he caught 17.5 fish. Bastard.
